The first model I made is on the right. It wasn't sturdy enough and had to be held. And the drawing is a plan, elevation, section, and perspective of the light that was portrayed.

Lake House

This is Lake House with a few revisions, mainly making the house larger in order to accommodate the furniture. The entire left side of the house was extended about 4'. I also enlarged the porch and included a screen enclosing the porch. The great room is bigger also. Furniture was added according to what the Blanding's wanted in their home. My job was to search furniture sites and fill their Lake House with the style of furniture I liked.

To me I really feel that all of these images show light in many different and fascinating ways. I am especially drawn to lights that glow/starburst or project downward into water.

Multicolored lights are also very interesting, Northern Lights are absolutely amazing in how they light up the sky in many arrangements of colors. Lights in the sky projecting from the clouds or shining down rays onto the land demand your attention and draw your eye all the way down. The image of the glow in the jar is very fascinating in the fact that it is a soft light and easy to look at and creates a red color on the wall when the actual light is a yellow-orange.

We took items from our Junk Drawers and put them in 3-D shadow boxes. We practiced our shading and cross-hatching. According to my shading the light is in the top left corner.

On an 18x24 paper we were to draw items we might find in a junk drawer and make a collage type. I ran out of things to draw quickly and had to resort to my toolbox.

For this project we had the guidelines of 12, 4x6 pieces of bristol board, 12 skewers, making anything we want as long as we used all of the materials. Everything also had to be on a 12x12 base. This was not my original idea but after I worked on some ideas I discovered that this is more interesting. I soon found out that this was very difficult to make, especially three of them.

This project required us to get a fruit or vegetable and draw it from all angles. Then we had to cut it open and draw each side, one in pen and one in pencil.

The assignment was to gather four leaves and arrange them in an interesting way. Draw them shadows, negative space, blind contour and

The Cube

The assignment was to construct a 4x4 cube made of bristol board. Once that was done it needed to be suspended four inches above a 8x8 base by straws only.
I constructed my cube and made tabs on the inside to hold it together. Then glued four straws, one on each corner, to support the cube. The flexible part of the straws connect at the bottom drawing your eye to the base. I also constructed a band around the cube ensuring the hold of the straws.

I enjoyed drawing the Foust Building. It is a much more interesting once you really study it. Although it was a little difficult to capture all of it, I feel like I managed the majority of it.

For this project I had many different designs but in the end I decided that this one was the best to show off the necklace. It made it more delicate and precious in its surroundings. When it is put together, the black ribbon ties around in a bow making the fabric bunch in the middle, looking like an opening flower, and creates a element of surprise, making it look like a present.

For this project I started out with a gum ball and a holly leaf. I had a paper clip piercing through the center and twirling on both sides. After the critique it was discussed to just have the paper clip not so visible. So the ends are now tucked into either side.

Looking through many blogs I came across Andrea Joseph's sketchblog. I like her work because it has many colors and immaculate details, also the majority of her posts are of objects and close up. It makes me want to look at it for a while and study every detail because it looks very interesting. My favorite would be her post on May 19th, it has wonderful detail and catches your eye. I would very much like to achieve drawings such as this.
